Solo Survival and the Two Endings

Playing alone

Solo is harder but cleaner — no teammate to misread an ID. The core rule is anchor at the register. You are the only thing between the door and the night, so stay where you can see the counter, the database, and the front window at once.

• Restock only when idle. If no customer is at the counter, make one supply run. Never wander during a queue.
• Targeted resupply. Grab the plank or trap you need this second, not a full haul.
• Mic risk is gone, but so is help. Without voice chat you can't be located — but you also can't call for a board repair.

Pets as early-warning

A pet is the solo player's second pair of eyes. Each has a role:

Adopt the cat first — it's the cheapest vet bill and still warns you before a copy reaches the glass.

The Bad Ending (Assimilated)

The Bad Ending triggers when the night is lost. Two paths lead there:

1. Four or more doppelgangers admitted — every wrong Approve is a tally; at 4 the Assimilation starts.
2. Killed on the final night — if you're caught with no board, no trap, and no light, the shift ends in death.

Either way the screen goes red and the wiki marks the run Assimilated. It's the default outcome for careless players, and the one most beginners see first.

The Secret Ending

The Secret Ending is hidden behind near-perfect play across all 13 nights:

1. Collect 5 clue notes — they spawn in the back room on random nights; read every crate.
2. Perfect identification — zero wrong approvals through night 13.
3. On the final night, the Manager arrives. Don't deny him — lure him toward the trap you pre-set by the fuel depot.
4. Detonate the underground fuel tank. The blast opens an escape tunnel that connects straight into Endless Mode.

It's the only ending that rewards obsession with detail. Most players stumble into Assimilation; the Secret Ending is for the few who treated every ID like a life-or-death decision — because it is.
